Task Force Composition

The proposed task force would include diverse expertise and community representation:

  • At least 4 County Council members
  • Finance Committee Co-Chair
  • Community Services Committee Co-Chair
  • Board of Assessment Review representative
  • Land Use Dept. General Manager
  • Department of Finance representative
  • Senior/retired individuals advocate
  • Board of Realtors representative
  • Taxation expert with reassessment experience
  • Other relevant experts
  • 3-5 volunteer community representatives

Proposed Task Force Mission

  • Examine issues or concerns from past reassessments to guide future reassessments
  • Identify any systemic issues and investigate for burdensome taxes and their causes
  • Gather public input through meetings and listening sessions
  • Assess and recommend policy and regulatory changes for Council consideration
  • Submit final report by March 2, 2026
